Autumn in Salisbury

The Setting Sun in the Cathedral Close

This autumn has been a particularly challenging one here in Pollard Towers; at the start of October I caught covid, (yet again), and this then developed into symptoms of Long Covid. Not fun to say the least. I have been well looked after however, and the NHS, as always, have been wonderful.

Please don’t worry if you have me booked for next year - I am already on the mend and intend to be fitter than ever by then!

I have been encouraged to get out when possible and exercise however! And what sort of photographer would I be if I did not take my camera with me? This time of year there is so much to see in Salisbury; it’s one of those places that feels ‘cosy’ when the nights draw in and the weather grows colder. I have to admit that I do struggle this time of year - who doesn’t miss the long warm (ish) days of summer?

One of my favourite places to walk is the Cathedral Close; I would love to photograph a wedding at this location, I truly would.

Yesterday I walked from the centre of town, around the close, through the cathedral and back again. A few days previously, I also took an early morning stroll around Old Sarum.

I am now using a different camera setup, but more on that to follow.

Here are a few of my favourite shots; I recommend clicking on them to view them at a larger size.
